Financial Assistance
Beginning on April 1, 2020, PAF will offer a suite of direct support initiatives for patients, and their families, who are impacted by, or have been diagnosed with, COVID-19. These include:
The COVID Care Resource Center, an online directory providing an array of resources, FAQs and educational webinars addressing the coronavirus pandemic. This online center will be routinely expanded as important new COVID resources and information becomes available and can be accessed at https://www.patientadvocate.org/covidcare/.
COVID Care will provide patients with direct support in response to their individual needs with expert help from case managers working to resolve issues related to accessing and paying for medical care and cost-of-living needs, including insurance and transportation costs that have become difficult to manage due to the pandemic. COVID Care is available to any patient or caregiver who has a chronic, life-threatening or debilitating illness and who has been directly or indirectly impacted by COVID-19, as well as those who do not have an underlying health condition but have been hospitalized with COVID-19. The COVID Care team can be reached at 1-800-532-5274, option 0.
The COVID Care Recovery Fund will deliver $500 in direct financial aid to eligible patients who need non-medical, cost-of-living support as a result of their diagnosis of COVID-19. Patients can access the fund and complete an application for assistance via a secure portal 24/7 https://financialaid.patientadvocate.org/Recovery or through the toll-free hotline at 1-855-824-7941, option 1.
To help affected patients cope with unprecedented financial stress relating to the COVID-19 outbreak, also known as coronavirus, we're providing direct assistance of $300 on a pre-paid debit card for individuals who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or directed to self-quarantine due to COVID-19.
Eligible patients can use the financial support for treatment expenses for COVID-19, over-the-counter and prescription medications, medical equipment and supplies, and groceries and meals, including delivery services.
